Europe on the Brink of War, Warns Polish Prime Minister
WARSAW — In a gripping interview with European media grouping LENA, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared that Europe is currently teetering on the edge of a “pre-war era.”
Tusk’s stark warning also highlighted the potential risk to Europe’s broader safety following Ukraine’s loss. Poland has stood as one of Ukraine’s most steadfast allies since the Russian invasion over two years ago.
Recently, the prime minister held crucial discussions with Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal in Warsaw, focusing on resolving farmers’ demands regarding restrictions on Ukrainian imports.
The tensions escalated further as Russian strikes set off air-raid warnings in various Ukrainian regions, including Cherkasy Oblast, Kamianske in Dnipro Oblast, and Dnipro city on the night of March 28-29, as reported by Ukrainian local media.
Serhii Lysak, head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast State Administration, revealed that the strikes targeted critical infrastructure facilities, resulting in a power outage in the area.
Meanwhile, retaliatory Ukrainian strikes hit Belgorod, claiming one life after a drone struck a residential building on Friday.
The recent surge in Russian attacks on Ukraine, including missile barrages on Kyiv and strikes on energy infrastructure nationwide, appears to be in response to Ukrainian aerial assaults on the Russian border region of Belgorod. However, such sporadic attacks have been a grim reality throughout the ongoing conflict. — Euronews
