Berlin Vice Chancellor Slams Israel’s Actions in Gaza
German Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, Robert Habeck, did not hold back in his criticism of Israel’s recent actions in the Gaza Strip, labeling them as flagrant violations of international law.
Addressing a crowd at the “Democracy Festival” in Berlin, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the German Constitution, Habeck tackled the sensitive topic of Germany’s military support for Israel.
During a lively Q&A session, Habeck made it clear that Germany stands firmly against the attack on Rafah, underscoring that Israel’s conduct in the region is unacceptable.
He emphasized the urgent need for Israel to respect international law, highlighting the dire consequences on the Palestinian population, such as widespread famine and relentless assaults in Gaza.
Habeck also suggested that the ongoing conflict could see a resolution if Hamas were to halt its military activities. — Agencies
