In a 2012 episode of Mythbusters, Titanic director James Cameron addressed the ongoing criticism surrounding the fate of Jack. Despite receiving numerous emails labeling Rose as “selfish” and Jack as an “idiot,” Cameron stood by the script’s decision for Jack’s tragic demise. “The dude’s going down,” he declared, putting an end to the debate.
A Record-Breaking Auction
The auction, which concluded on Sunday evening, proved to be a massive success, raising a total of $15.68 million. With bidding wars taking place left and right, the event was a testament to the enduring appeal of Hollywood memorabilia. Joseph Maddalena of Heritage Auctions remarked on the overwhelming response, stating, “There were countless bidding wars… so many we lost track.”
