Former Home and Away Star Orpheus Pledger Arrested After Three-Day Police Manhunt
In a dramatic turn of events, former Home and Away star Orpheus Pledger has been apprehended following a intense three-day police pursuit in Australia.
Pledger, aged 30, is currently facing four charges for allegedly assaulting a woman, according to authorities.
Having been granted bail on Monday for a court-ordered medical evaluation, Pledger was expected to return the next day under strict conditions.
However, when he failed to appear in court, law enforcement launched a public appeal for information and subsequently issued an arrest warrant.
Victoria Police confirmed that the actor was taken into custody in Melbourne on Thursday, although additional specifics were not disclosed.
His manager, Craig McMahon, disclosed to the Sydney Morning Herald that he had not been able to reach Pledger in the past week and was taken aback by the assault accusations.
McMahon also revealed that Pledger had been grappling with mental health challenges.
With a career spanning over two decades, the actor has made appearances on various Australian television programs.
Notably, in 2016, he joined the cast of Home and Away as Mason Morgan for a three-year stint.
Prior to this, Pledger had roles on popular shows like Neighbours, Silversun, and CrashBurn. — BBC
