Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East Teams Up with EVIQ in Saudi Arabia
In a groundbreaking move, Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East has joined forces with Juffali Automotive Company (JACO), its official general distributor in Saudi Arabia, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EVIQ, Saudi Arabia’s leading EV infrastructure provider.
This strategic alliance underscores Mercedes-Benz’s unwavering commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by playing a key role in the development of a sustainable and advanced mobility ecosystem. By leveraging EVIQ’s infrastructure expertise and JACO’s extensive presence in the Kingdom, the partnership aims to establish a network of high-power EV charging stations that will empower Mercedes-Benz customers to explore Saudi Arabia with ease and confidence.
Beyond simply providing infrastructure, this collaboration places a strong emphasis on customer education and awareness, with the goal of showcasing the advantages of electric mobility and encouraging broader adoption. The initiative also presents opportunities for innovation, knowledge exchange, and the development of local talent in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s broader diversification objectives.
By combining global expertise with local insights, Mercedes-Benz is taking a significant step towards shaping the future of electric mobility in Saudi Arabia — a future that prioritizes convenience, performance, and sustainability.
“At Mercedes-Benz, we are dedicated to leading the way in sustainable luxury mobility. This partnership with EVIQ goes beyond infrastructure; it is about supporting Saudi Arabia’s evolution into a global hub of innovation. Together, we are driving progress that complements the economic diversification goals of Vision 2030 and paves the way for a greener future,” remarked Michael Stroband, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East.
Juffali Automotive Company, a key player in Mercedes-Benz’s presence in Saudi Arabia since the 1950s, will play a crucial role in realizing this vision. Chenghez Khan, CEO of Juffali Automotive Company, added, “We are thrilled to embark on this important partnership with EVIQ. This collaboration represents a powerful blend of innovation and sustainability. By facilitating a robust EV infrastructure, we are not just supporting the transition to electric mobility — we are actively shaping the future of transportation in Saudi Arabia. This initiative is fully aligned with the goals of Vision 2030, contributing to a more sustainable, connected, and diversified economy.”
EVIQ, a joint venture between Saudi Electricity Company and the Public Investment Fund, is entrusted with the task of designing, installing, and operating high-speed charging stations. This deployment seamlessly aligns with Mercedes-Benz’s global “Ambition 2039” strategy, which aims to achieve a net carbon-neutral fleet across its entire lifecycle by the end of the decade. By combining EVIQ’s high-speed charging expertise with Mercedes-Benz’s cutting-edge electric models — such as the EQS, EQE, and G580 with EQ Technology — the partnership promises to deliver an unparalleled EV ecosystem tailored to the Saudi market.
Highlighting the significance of the partnership, Mohammed Gazzaz, CEO of EVIQ, stated, “EVIQ continues to lead the charge in developing Saudi Arabia’s EV ecosystem. This strategic collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, a globally renowned innovator in mobility, and Juffali Automotive Company (JACO), its official general distributor in Saudi Arabia, further cements our commitment to fostering strong partnerships to enhance EV infrastructure across the Kingdom, accelerating the transition to a sustainable future of transportation.”
