Netflix Delays Meghan Markle’s New Show Due to Los Angeles Wildfires
LOS ANGELES — The highly anticipated Netflix show starring the Duchess of Sussex has been pushed back to a March premiere date as a result of the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, the streaming giant has confirmed.
The lifestyle series, filmed in southern California, was originally set to debut this week but has been postponed due to the ongoing crisis caused by the fires.
Netflix expressed its full support for Meghan’s decision to delay the release in light of the tragic events unfolding in the area. The wildfires in California have claimed the lives of at least 16 people and forced hundreds of thousands to evacuate their homes.
In a statement, Netflix described the upcoming show, titled “With Love, Meghan,” as a heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California. The streaming service acknowledged the need to prioritize the needs of those affected by the fires and decided to reschedule the premiere accordingly.
“I’m grateful to my partners at Netflix for standing by me in postponing the launch, as we shift our focus to helping those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” the duchess expressed.
The program, shot in the picturesque town of Montecito in southern California, will now make its debut on 4th March, as per Netflix’s announcement.
“With Love, Meghan” will feature eight 30-minute episodes with guest appearances from celebrities like actress Mindy Kaling and former “Suits” star Abigail Spencer.
In a preview released earlier, Meghan is seen decorating a cake with raspberries and collecting honey in California, where she resides with her husband Prince Harry and their two children.
