Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka Hits 2 Million Visitors Milestone
The Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka has achieved a remarkable feat, welcoming over two million visitors since its grand opening on April 13.
The momentous occasion was commemorated in the presence of Minister of Tourism Ahmed AlKhateeb and Dr. Ghazi Binzagr, Saudi Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner General of the Pavilion.
CNN recently highlighted the Saudi Arabia Pavilion as a must-visit attraction at the global event, ranking it among the top 10 pavilions.
With an impressive daily average of more than 15,000 visitors, the Pavilion marked its busiest day on June 17, drawing in a crowd of over 24,000 individuals.
Since its inception, the Pavilion has hosted over 2,400 events, with 2,000 taking place within the Pavilion premises and 400 held elsewhere across Expo 2025 Osaka.
The popular Irth Restaurant has catered to more than 18,000 guests, while the Irth Café has served over 120,000 cups of coffee, showcasing the Pavilion’s hospitality and cultural offerings.
Dr. Binzagr emphasized the milestone as “a testament to the strong bonds Saudi Arabia is forging with Japan and the global community,” highlighting the impactful conversations happening at Expo 2025 Osaka in anticipation of Expo 2030 Riyadh.
Designed by renowned firm Foster + Partners, the Pavilion provides an immersive blend of cultural and technological experiences, earning it the prestigious Gold award at the 2025 New York Architectural Design Awards in the “Cultural Architecture – Interactive and Experiential Spaces” category.
With just over 50 days remaining until the conclusion of Expo 2025 Osaka and the transition to Expo 2030 Riyadh, the Pavilion is gearing up for its most significant event yet: the Saudi National Day celebrations on September 23.
Visitors can continue to enjoy live performances, artistic displays, and interactive exhibits as the Expo draws to a close. — SG
