Europe and US Ready to Guarantee Ukraine’s Security – Coalition News!

Advanced Technical Work on Security Guarantees for Ukraine

PARIS — The Elysée announced on Tuesday that technical work on security guarantees for Ukraine has progressed significantly, with allies now awaiting confirmation of US support before the upcoming meeting of the ‘Coalition of the Willing’.

Following the first meeting of the coalition in mid-February, extensive technical work has been carried out to ensure Ukraine’s ability to deter further aggression after a ceasefire. This work includes plans to strengthen the Ukrainian armed forces for long-term sustainability and the deployment of an international reassurance force in designated areas across the country.

The Elysée emphasized that the progress made demonstrates readiness and capability, stating, “What we will be looking for on Thursday is confirmation that the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ does indeed have the support of the US.”

While US President Donald Trump has emphasized European responsibility for security guarantees, he has expressed willingness to support European efforts, potentially through air and missile cover and increased intelligence sharing.

The meeting, initiated by French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, aims to uphold commitments and urge Trump to follow through on his threats towards Putin.

Zelensky will participate in the meeting from Paris, following discussions with Macron, and will be joined by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Meanwhile, Putin is in China for WWII commemorations, alongside other world leaders.
