Ukrainian President Zelenskyy: Next Few Months in Russia-Ukraine War Will Be Decisive
KYIV — Emphasizing the critical nature of the upcoming months in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on Monday that decisive actions are needed.
Accepting a Golden Plate Award from the American Academy of Achievement in New York, Zelenskyy declared, “We don’t have much time. The next few months will be decisive.”
He characterized the conflict as “Russia’s war against freedom itself,” highlighting the urgent need to shape its outcome.
“We need to act swiftly. We cannot afford to waste the next few months in war, as it may cost us the next decades,” he emphasized.
Zelenskyy disclosed that Ukraine has developed a “plan for victory,” which he plans to present to U.S. officials, including presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, along with Kyiv’s allies.
“I strongly believe that our collective goal should be victory for freedom, without compromising on our principles,” he added.
Arriving in the U.S. for the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Zelenskyy reiterated that his “victory plan” is centered on enhancing security, solidifying Ukraine’s geopolitical position, receiving robust military support, and securing economic assistance.
He stressed the importance of having the autonomy to make decisions regarding military aid. — Agencies
