Deadly Storms Leave Devastation in Iowa, Midwest

Deadly Tornado Strikes Small Iowa Town

WASHINGTON — A tornado unleashed havoc and tragedy in the small town of Greenfield, Iowa, as powerful storms wreaked havoc across the Midwest.

Homes and businesses lay in ruins, cars were crushed, and debris littered the once peaceful landscape.

At a news briefing on Tuesday night, Iowa police confirmed multiple fatalities, although the exact number was still unknown.

Nebraska, Illinois, and Wisconsin were also pummeled by tornadoes, heavy rainfall, and widespread power outages.

Video footage captured the extent of the destruction in Iowa, with buildings flattened, cars overturned, and wind turbines shattered.

Greenfield, a quaint town of 2,000 residents located 55 miles from Des Moines, bore the brunt of the deadliest tornado.

The town’s hospital was among the structures damaged, forcing the injured dozen to seek treatment elsewhere.

“A good portion” of Greenfield has been left in ruins, revealed Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Alex Dinkla during the press briefing.

As the death toll remained uncertain, Sgt. Dinkla stated, “We’re still counting at this time.”

Fortunately, all residents of the town have been located and are safe, according to authorities.
