British Airways to Resume Flights to Jeddah After Five-Year Hiatus

In a groundbreaking announcement, British Airways has declared its plans to relaunch flights to Jeddah later this year, putting an end to a five-year absence. This exciting development was revealed at the prestigious GREAT FUTURES expo in Riyadh, an event dedicated to fostering strong business relationships between the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia.

Flight Details

Tickets for the new service, set to commence on November 4, 2024, are now available for booking. The flights will operate year-round, flying from London Heathrow to Jeddah utilizing the Boeing 787 fleet. This route, running four times a week, will complement the existing daily flights between Riyadh and Heathrow Terminal 5, significantly enhancing British Airways’ connectivity within the Kingdom.

Enthusiastic Response

Colm Lacy, the Chief Commercial Officer of British Airways, expressed his excitement at the expo, emphasizing the airline’s dedication to strengthening relationships and pursuing business opportunities between the two nations. “For years, we’ve served as a crucial link between families, friends, and businesses in both countries. The reintroduction of these flights underscores our commitment to nurturing these connections,” remarked Lacy.

Positive Industry Impact

CEO of Jeddah Airports, Mazen Johar, and CEO of the Saudi Air Connectivity Program, Majid Khan, jointly lauded the reintroduction of British Airways’ direct flights from London to Jeddah as a significant boost to air links with the capital. With British Airways’ extensive network spanning the UK, Europe, and North America, travelers will have the opportunity to explore Saudi Arabia’s diverse offerings, further supporting the growth of sectors such as tourism and aviation.
