Sean “Diddy” Combs Arrested on Federal Charges
LOS ANGELES — The hip-hop mogul known as Sean “Diddy” Combs has found himself in hot water once again, this time with his recent arrest in New York City on unspecified federal charges, according to federal authorities.
Following raids on two of his properties in Los Angeles and Miami back in March, as part of an “ongoing investigation” into sex trafficking, Combs’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment over the arrest, maintaining his client’s innocence.
Despite facing a slew of allegations ranging from sexual assault to abuse, including claims made by his ex-partner Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, Combs has vehemently denied all accusations against him.
Multiple law enforcement sources have disclosed that Combs’s arrest is linked to an ongoing investigation by US homeland security officials, with US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams confirming the arrest in a statement released on Monday night.
“Earlier this evening, federal agents arrested Sean Combs, based on a sealed indictment filed by the SDNY,” Williams stated, hinting at more details to be revealed upon the unsealing of the indictment on Tuesday.
Amidst civil lawsuits alleging rape of an underage girl and coercive behavior towards a producer, Combs’s attorney asserted that the music icon is eager to vindicate himself in court.
Expressing disappointment over what they view as an unjust prosecution, Agnifilo emphasized Combs’s positive attributes as a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, family man, and philanthropist who has dedicated decades to community upliftment.
The rapper’s legal woes began in November 2023 with Ventura’s lawsuit, followed by additional lawsuits alleging abuse and assault, all of which Combs denied as baseless money grabs.
As new allegations surfaced in February, Combs faced further scrutiny, culminating in the raids on his properties and his encounter with authorities at an airport in Miami.
With many of the lawsuits filed under the New York Adult Survivors Act, Combs faced mounting legal challenges, including CCTV footage depicting an altercation with Ventura that mirrored her civil suit.
Despite his legal troubles, Combs, also known as Puffy, Puff Daddy, P Diddy, Love, and Brother Love, remains a prominent figure in the rap industry, boasting a successful mogul status.
