Adele shocks fans with career hiatus after epic triumphs

ADELE ANNOUNCES LONG-TERM CAREER BREAK AFTER FINAL PERFORMANCE

LONDON — In a stunning revelation, British powerhouse Adele has declared her intention to embark on a substantial hiatus from her illustrious music career, bidding farewell to fans after a remarkable journey as a global sensation.

The Grammy-winning songstress, renowned for her soulful R&B ballads, broke the news following her farewell show in Munich, expressing profound gratitude to her loyal supporters.

“I will be absent from the spotlight for an extended period, but you will remain close to my heart throughout my time away,” Adele declared. “After dedicating seven years to crafting a new chapter in my life, I now seek solace and personal rejuvenation. It is time for me to embrace this newfound existence.”

The 36-year-old songbird, hailing from London, ascended to global stardom with her second album, “21,” which dominated music charts worldwide and secured her inaugural Grammy win. Boasting an impressive tally of over 16 Grammy accolades and 25 nominations, the “Hello” crooner is set to conclude her two-year Las Vegas residency in November 2024, culminating her live performances.

“The past three years of performing have been immensely gratifying, marking the lengthiest stint of my career thus far, and likely the lengthiest I shall ever undertake,” Adele shared with the audience during her final Munich show on August 31.

Adele’s most recent album, “30,” unveiled in 2021, clinched the Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance and garnered six additional nominations. The record swiftly claimed the title of the highest-selling album in the US within a mere day of its release, with the smash hit “Easy on Me” soaring to the top of charts in both the UK and US.

In a prior announcement in July, Adele disclosed her intentions for a substantial hiatus to explore alternative creative pursuits, clarifying that she harbors no imminent plans for fresh musical endeavors. Since November 2022, she has been gracing the stage on weekends, with her final performances scheduled for November 23, 2024.

The proclamation arrives on the heels of Adele’s engagement to Rich Paul, her partner since 2021 following her divorce from Simon Konecki. The duo shares a child together. — Agencies
