Explosions Rock Hezbollah’s Communication Devices, Hundreds Injured
In a shocking turn of events, hundreds of members of Lebanon’s Hezbollah have been injured by small explosions targeting their communication devices across the country. A party official has labeled this incident as “the largest security breach to date.”
According to Iranian news agency Mehr, the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was also injured in one of these explosions involving a wireless communication device. Security sources have reported over 1,000 injuries linked to the device explosions in various regions of Lebanon.
Activists have flooded social media with images and videos showing injured young men on the streets, causing widespread panic among residents. The mysterious blasts specifically targeted mobile communication devices used by Hezbollah members.
Reports of injuries have emerged from southern Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon, with conflicting information on the number of casualties, estimated to be in the hundreds.
Lebanese security sources suspect that these explosions may be a result of Israeli infiltration, leading to the batteries of the devices exploding. A Reuters journalist witnessed ten Hezbollah members bleeding from their injuries in southern Beirut, while a Lebanese security source claimed that Israel accessed Hezbollah’s communication system to orchestrate the explosions, prompting calls for members to dispose of their devices. — Agencies
