EU Elections Frontrunner meets SPD Counterpart in Berlin
In a prelude to the upcoming EU elections, the frontrunner of the Party of European Socialists engaged in discussions with his SPD counterpart in Berlin on Monday.
Nicolas Schmit, who currently serves as the EU Commissioner for Employment and Social Rights, sat down for talks with the lead candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Katharina Barley.
“Every election holds significance,” Schmit emphasized. “However, given the current global climate, this election carries extraordinary weight.”
Highlighting the upcoming European Parliament elections in June, Schmit stressed that European voters are facing a crucial “choice of direction.” He added, “This decision will not only impact international affairs but also the internal trajectory that Europe should pursue.” — Euronews
