Saudi Arabia Vows to Support Sudan and Neighboring Countries in Humanitarian Crisis
PARIS — Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), made a bold statement in Paris, declaring that Saudi Arabia will not allow the crises in Sudan and its neighboring countries to be ignored or forgotten.
Speaking at the International Humanitarian Conference for Sudan and neighboring countries, organized by France and the European Union, Dr. Al Rabeeah emphasized the urgent need for support. The event was attended by countries supporting peace efforts in Sudan, major donors, as well as UN and international organizations.
The strong relationship between Saudi Arabia and Sudan prompted the Kingdom to take immediate action, conducting relief operations including 13 aircraft and four sea bridges. Over $59 million has been allocated for 43 humanitarian projects in Sudan and neighboring countries in partnership with various organizations.
In addition, twenty voluntary medical teams were dispatched to provide much-needed assistance in Sudan.
“Saudi Arabia stands firm in its commitment to addressing the crises in Sudan and neighboring countries. We have been actively advocating for lasting peace in the region and supporting humanitarian efforts,” stated Dr. Al Rabeeah.
He went on to highlight Saudi Arabia’s significant contributions, including $100 million in aid to Sudan and an additional $20 million pledge. The Kingdom is set to implement over $1.2 billion in relief and humanitarian projects in the region in the near future.
Dr. Al Rabeeah affirmed that Saudi Arabia will persist in its endeavors to achieve sustainable peace in the mentioned areas, showcasing its humanitarian leadership through the initiatives carried out by KSrelief. — SPA
