Violence Erupts in Brussels After Pro-Palestinian Demonstration
In a shocking turn of events, a person has been brutally stabbed following a pro-Palestinian demonstration in central Brussels on Sunday evening. According to local media reports, the victim is currently in critical condition as a result of the attack. Ilse Van de Keere, spokesperson for the Brussels Capital Ixelles police zone, revealed to Het Laatste Nieuws that “One person was taken to hospital in critical condition. A suspect was arrested in connection with the incident.”
Prior to the violent outburst, dozens of individuals had gathered at Zaterdagplein, located near the popular tourist destination of Place Saint Catherine, to express their solidarity with Gaza.
Organizers of the demonstration swiftly condemned the attack in a press release, stating that “an unidentified individual, who had no affiliation with the event, infiltrated the crowd and launched an assault on peaceful protesters.”
